The Effectiveness of a Training Program Based on Selflearning
in The Light of The Goals of Sustainable
Professional Development to Develop the 21st Century Skills
for Social Studies Teachers

The aim of the research was to prepare a training program based on selflearning
in the light of the Goals of sustainable professional development and
measure its effectiveness in developing the skills of the 21st century for the social
studies teachers. The research used the Quasi-experimental design to measure
the performance of the research group on the research instruments represented
in: 21st century, the results showed that there was a statistically significant
difference between the average scores of the social studies teachers' scores in
the pre-post achievement test for the proposed program subject in favor of the
post implementation. Also, there was a statistically significant difference between
the average score of the social studies teachers in the pre- and postimplementation
of the scale related to the proposed training program in favor of
the post implementation. The result of the study of the program, confirms the
effectiveness of the training program in developing the whole 21st century skills.
